Welcome to the Danbury Hackerspace

Please donate to our Covid-19 Face Shield project

Visit the CTPPEProject.com page for more information our efforts. We’ve printed more than 1,000 face shields and have distributed more than 800 to area hospitals, doctors, nurses, first responders, police, and more. There is no charge

We are raising funds to purchase PETG Plastic to make hundreds (hopefully thousands) of face shields for our local healthcare workers. The cost of each sheet of 4’x8′ PETG plastic is $50 and we can make approximately 40 shields from them. We have a small army of volunteers 3D printing the frames, our only cost is the plastic. Please help us purchase more sheets of plastic. Thanks!

Please donate through PayPal. The Danbury Hackerspace is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 2012. If you need a donation receipt please email danburyhackerspace@gmail.com.

Our first shield printed on a 3D printer
and the front plastic was lasercut.

The Danbury Hackerspace @ the Innovation Center is a hackerspace and coworking facility at 158 Main Street, connected to the Danbury Library. The City of Danbury has graciously provided the space to help launch the hackerspace and build a community of entrepreneurs, makers, craftspeople, & artists. We are now open for membership!

What is a hackerspace? Mayor Mark wrote a blog post about hackerspaces:

“Well the best way to describe one is a place where people can congregate, exchange ideas, and make use of the technology that is there to improve on their ideas. The ideas could range from computer programming to manufacturing, digital art and electronic art to assembly and design skills.”

Our free weekly Open House is postponed because of the Coronavirus.
